Good evening, everyone! I’d like you to meet Ulrich von Liechtenstein, my World War II field correspondent portable typewriter, a Hermes “Baby” Rocket. He’s half the size of a normal portable, lightweight, and a dream to type on. We’re basically attached at the hip; I take him everywhere with me and he has proven to be a loyal workhorse of prose. [Name inspired by the 13th century German “minnesinger” (a medieval German knight, poet, and singer of Minne, or courtly love) on whom the character in A Knight’s Tale (played by Heath Ledger) was based].
